It is not just the making of babies, it is the making of mother that midwives view as the miracle of birth

So grateful to Confluence Midwifery and all they did to serve this area before moving on to care for more momma’s. Thanks for sharing this photo!

Our services

Prenatal Care

Everything begins at the beginning. Prenatal care is one of the hallmarks of midwifery. Visits are longer, generally around 30-60mins giving ample opportunity to answer questions, give informed choice and focus on how to support the health of your pregnancy

Labor, Delivery and the Immediate Postpartum

When it comes time to welcome your child into the world, the midwife you have seen throughout your pregnancy will come to your house with a fellow midwife, to care for you and your baby. Yeah, it can be that simple!

  • -Visits occur in office using the schedule of every 4 weeks until 28 weeks. Every other week from 28-36 weeks. And, weekly from 36 weeks until delivery

-At least one visit occurs at home, generally at 36 weeks

    -Labs are drawn in office

-Ultrasounds are schedule at local centers

-Routine monitoring of blood pressure, pulse and fetal heart tones occurs at each visit

    -Informed decision making

-24/7/365 access to midwife, for any urgent matters

  • -Clinically monitoring the wellbeing of mother and baby through vitals (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, fetal heart tones) in active labor

-Monitor overall well being by mother and midwife’s perception

-Offer a birth tub and other comfort measures

-Support the physiologic process of labor

-Support birth of baby and placenta

-Monitor baby’s well being including the transition to breathing after birth, using NRP skills, as indicated

-Monitor mother’s well being after delivery via vitals, lochia and overall well being.

    -Encourages and facilitates breastfeeding

    -Preforms a full newborn assessment

-Administers vitamin K and erythromycin, per parental decision reached prenatally

-Sutures most tears, refers for the rare deep lacerations

-Carries medication for heavier bleeding or suturing

-Refer or transports if the occasion arises

Pricing

I believe in transparency. The cost for a home birth is $4,700. I would be happy to share with you the full copy of my financial contract. The bullet points are:

  • This cost covers: prenatal, labor, postpartum and newborn midwifery care. 24/7 access to a midwife for urgent matters. A second birth professional to attend your birth. Precious Thoughts standard lab package (prenatal panel, HA1c, urine culture, GN/CT, CBC, 50g GDM screening, antibody test(x2), GBS, cord ABO/RH & direct combs) . The use of a birth pool for labor.

  • This cost does not cover: Doula, childbirth education, additional labs, or ultrasounds.

I am not in network with any insurance company including Medicaid. I do work with a third party insurance billing company and would be happy to attempt to bill through them. One of the services this billing company offers is a Verification of Benefits, an initial estimate for if/what your insurance may cover. I would be happy to work with you on that process; while in care or prior to beginning care. PPOs and cost-sharing companies are especially good at reimbursement. Many families have success billing their insurance company personally. I would be happy to talk further on the complex topic of insurance billing during a consultation.

I believe midwifery should be affordable for everyone, if cost is the determining factor I would be happy to discuss a personalized payment plan that meets your needs.

Discounts: I offer a large family discount of $4,000 for families welcoming their 5th baby or more.
